Accept the update titled Critical update to prevent or resolve an HP Director issue.

When we install the IE 8 the HP director not work
First click on HP Director then press ALT SPACE
On desktop you will get window click on minimize twice
Then HP Director will show on taskbar
Other way download patch CIT207355-HPCOM-PATCH-v8.exe
It will work
